Safeguarding
We take safeguarding very seriously, and benefit from being part of Cotham Parish Church and their rigorous approach.
You can read their comprehensive safeguarding policy here, which we also work under.
We also have a fantastic safeguarding officer, Vicky Leggat-Green, who is available for anyone to speak to about any concerns in confidence. You can contact her via email at safeguarding@cothamparishchurch.org or via phone on 07534 177920.
What is safeguarding?
Safeguarding is about preventing harm to children and adults wherever possible.
Safeguarding is the responsibility of all members of the community, to give paramount importance to the nurture and care of children, young people and vulnerable adults in a safe and secure environment.
We are working to develop a culture in our community that:
Enables a safe and caring space and provides a loving environment where there is a culture of ‘informed vigilance’ as to the dangers of abuse.
Enables and encourages concerns to be raised and responded to openly and consistently and protects children, young people and adults who may be vulnerable from actual or potential harm.
Ensures all people feel welcomed, respected and safe from abuse.
Values, listens to and respects children, young people and adults who may be vulnerable, encouraging them to be active contributors to the church community.
Encourages adults who may be vulnerable to lead as independent a life as possible.
If you have wider concerns and wish to speak to the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer, Adam Bond, you can phone them on 0117 906 0100 or email them at adam.bond@bristoldiocese.org.
