Foundation provides a regular space for discussion and creative exploration of faith in culture, justice and the arts called the friendly forum.
A typical friendly forum event would be held in a bar, coffee shop or pub in central Bristol on a Thursday or Saturday evening. Some songs are played by the Foundation band to break up the evening and there is a quiz. Previous hits include a rendition of Stevie Wonder's Higher Ground and a Bob Dylan medley.
A Friendly Forum event is made up of 2-4 speakers around a theme exploring faith, arts and/or justice from a Christian perpective such as music, poetry and politics. After each talk, we break into small groups to allow people time to discuss and consider the ideas raised by each speaker. The discussion time is normally lively.
The friendly forum website also provides a space for book, film, music and art reviews and short theological thoughts.
