Cornerstone – Christian residential community in Cotham, Bristol
We are recruiting founder members for a residential community made up of four progressive Christian adults to establish a shared household and rule of life as part of the mission and ministry of Foundation Bristol – www.foundationbristol.org.
The house is an attractive period townhouse, recently refurbished, in a prime central location.
Foundation is a contemplative worshipping community based at Cotham Parish Church in central Bristol – www.cothamparishchurch.org. Based in creative contemplative spiritual practices, combining ancient and contemporary expression, and rooted in inclusive & progressive theology, we are attracting a growing and diverse community of faith explorers and adventurers.
The four members of Cornerstone will work with others to establish and live out a shared rule of life; with pastoral and missional connections to Foundation and the wider life of Cotham Parish Church. The Cornerstone house is immediately next to the church at the top of St Michael’s Hill, a vibrant neighbourhood adjacent to Bristol University. With four bedrooms and two shared reception rooms the house has recently been refurbished and is owned by Cotham Parish Church.
This is an exciting opportunity for those who want to explore community living and shared rule of life. The rent is under the market value for this part of Bristol in recognition of the spiritual and social capital we hope the community will generate. A reference group and satellite members will provide a wider network of support and belonging.
